XR User Experience Evaluation

HCI · UX Design · Research

Establishing an evaluation system to measure user experience is necessary to assist the product managers and designers of the PICO extended reality all-in-one team in decision-making. Although this research primarily targets the XR platform, most of the content applies to other general scenarios.

A mind map was produced by reviewing papers, books, videos, insights from leadership, and personal ideas.

User experience can be divided into three components: Accessibility, Efficiency, and Premium Feel, with priority decreasing from top to bottom in the diagram.

Through this evaluation system, we can see how daily discussed specs (such as price, accessibility design, storage space, privacy, UI interaction, battery life, camera resolution, chip performance, algorithms, premium feel, etc.) impact different aspects of the user experience.

Moreover, when two decisions conflict, the priority levels in the evaluation system can help determine which one takes precedence.
