Establishing an evaluation system to measure user experience is necessary to assist the product managers and designers of the PICO extended reality all-in-one team in decision-making. Although this research primarily targets the XR platform, most of the content applies to other general scenarios.

A mind map was produced by reviewing papers, books, videos, insights from leadership, and personal ideas.

User experience can be divided into three components: Accessibility, Efficiency, and Premium Feel. In the diagram, user reachability priority increases from top to bottom, and user reachability decreases.

Through this evaluation system, we can see how daily discussed specs (such as price, accessibility design, storage space, privacy, UI interaction, battery life, camera resolution, chip performance, algorithms, premium feel, etc.) impact different aspects of the user experience.

Moreover, when two decisions conflict, the priority levels in the evaluation system can help determine which one takes precedence.

We have found that the "sense of presence" people pursue is related to multiple factors, far beyond the single dimension of 360-degree surround. Taking movie-watching scenario as an example, elements like screen brightness, color accuracy, dynamic range, resolution, and three-dimensional spatial audio are all crucial. While head-mounted devices excel at delivering 360-degree immersion and binocular disparity, their display quality still lags significantly behind that of traditional devices like smartphones, tablets, computers, and IMAX theater screens.

Compared to competitors like Apple Vision Pro, the PICO 4 Pro has advantages in its more affordable price and a wider range of customization options. However, there remains considerable room for improvement in accessibility design, display quality, and dizziness feeling.
